Best Pickleball Apps, Grouped by the Job You Need Done
Pickleball apps for organizing games, finding a game or a court, tracking ratings, booking courts and running tournaments, described from each app's own listing.

There are hundreds of pickleball apps and most "best of" lists mix them into one pile: a line-calling camera app next to a court directory next to a rating service. They don't compete. They do different jobs.
So this list is grouped by the job. Every app outside Pikel is described from its own App Store listing, read on 2026-09-30, not from our opinion of it. Each was listed as a free download on that date; some offer paid tiers, so check the listing before you commit a club to one.
A note on who wrote this. We make Pikel, and it sits in the first group. We've tried to describe it as plainly as everything else: what it does, and what it doesn't.
Organizing games: open play, round robins and leagues
This is the job most lists skip: the person who books the courts, collects the RSVPs, draws the matchups and answers "am I in?" forty times a week.
Pikel (iPhone and Android; free, no ads). A pickleball app for organizers and the players in their groups. Players RSVP to a game; when it's full, a waitlist fills dropped spots automatically. Pikel runs round robins, King of the Court, fixed-partner and singles formats, takes scores courtside and keeps standings live. Leagues keep one table across every week of a season. Each club and game has its own chat, so the details stay next to the game instead of in a group thread. It links to DUPR so a host can submit a night's matches. What it isn't: a court-booking system or a nationwide court directory.
TeamReach. A general team app for any team, club or group: group chats and direct messages, published schedules, RSVPs and reminders.
Spond and Heja. General sports-team apps with season schedules, RSVP tracking and reminders; Spond also collects fees and event payments, and Heja has group messaging. Both are built for any team sport.
PlayTime Scheduler. A calendar of sessions posted by local players: join sessions that match your format and skill level, and set notifications for new ones. Free, Premium and Power User tiers.
Reclub. A social sports app: find a club near you, and run round robins, leagues, social drop-ins and tournaments with brackets and registration, with chat alongside.
If all you need is a printed schedule, you may not need an app: our free round robin generator prints a schedule for up to 32 players, with names, and the bracket generator prints a single or double elimination bracket.
Finding a game or a court
Places2Play. A community-driven directory of pickleball courts and facilities: browse a map, search by city, and filter by indoor or outdoor, public or private, free or pay to play.
Pickleball+. Search over 22,000 courts, then join local groups, find or plan games with RSVPs, and chat with the players you meet.
Playtomic. A player community for padel, pickleball and tennis: create or join games at a club, make a game public so others can hop in, and get help booking a court.
Ratings and match results
DUPR. A widely used rating that many clubs, leagues and tournaments ask for. Per its listing you log matches, your opponent verifies the score, and your rating updates. Our guide explains what DUPR is and how it moves. In Pikel, a host can submit a DUPR-rated game's matches after the night instead of each player logging them.
PB Vision. Upload a recorded game and it returns shot-by-shot stats, highlights and its own skill ratings for serve, return, offense, defense and more.
SwingVision. Records matches from one phone camera and gives stats, highlights by shot type and line calls. Built for tennis and pickleball.
If you just want to know where you stand before you pick an open play session, our self-assessment and skill chart takes two minutes and doesn't pretend to be a rating.
Booking courts at a club or facility
Booking apps come with the facility: you use the one your club runs.
CourtReserve. Book courts under your club's rules and member rates, register for clinics, lessons, leagues and events, and grab a spot in open play or a drop-in.
Playbypoint. Club booking with notifications, communication tools, payments and a social community.
Running a tournament
Scoreholio. Tournament software for anything from a backyard event to a large field: check players in, start the tournament, and the app moves players with push notifications and dashboards.
Pikel runs tournaments too, with divisions and brackets. See how to organize a pickleball tournament.
How to choose
- You run the games. Start with an organizing app. The test: can a player RSVP, get waitlisted and get promoted without you sending a single message?
- You play in someone else's games. Use whatever your organizer uses, plus DUPR if you play rated events.
- You want to improve. A video app will show you more than any rating number.
- Your club owns the courts. Booking is the facility's call; an organizing app can sit alongside it for the games themselves.
Pro tip
Don't make your group install three apps on week one. Pick the one that removes the most messages from your phone, run a month on it, and add the next only when people ask for it.
Common questions
- What is the best pickleball app?
- It depends on the job. Organizers running open play, round robins and leagues want an organizing app; players looking for a court want a directory; players who want a results-based rating use DUPR; club members booking courts use whatever booking system their facility runs. Most players end up with two or three.
- What is the best app for organizing pickleball open play or a round robin?
- Look for an app that handles RSVPs, a waitlist and the matchups in one place, so the group chat stops being the sign-up sheet. Pikel, the app we make, is built for exactly that. Team apps such as TeamReach, Spond and Heja handle scheduling and chat for any sport.
- Is there a free pickleball round robin generator?
- Yes. Pikel's round robin generator on the web is free and needs no sign-up: enter players, courts and rounds, pick a format, and print who plays whom.
- Which app gives me a pickleball rating?
- DUPR is a widely used rating that many clubs and events ask for, and it is calculated from match results. Video apps such as PB Vision give a skill rating from recorded games. Pikel links to DUPR and also keeps its own Pikel rating, which moves with the results of games played in Pikel.
