Players
- Is pikel free for players?
- Yes. Finding games, RSVPing, joining clubs and following live tournaments are all free. You only pay when an organizer charges an entry fee for their event — and a paid registration adds a small service fee at checkout unless the organizer chose to absorb it.
- Do I need an account to see a tournament?
- Not to see the event. Dates, venue, divisions, entry fees and the schedule are public — share the link with anyone. Player names, brackets and standings are signed-in only, and you need an account to register or RSVP.
- What happens if a game is full?
- You can join the waitlist. If someone drops out, the next person in line is moved into the spot automatically and notified — there is nothing to accept and no race to be first.
- Can I link my DUPR rating?
- Yes. Link DUPR from your profile and your rating shows on your player card. Results reach DUPR from the games and tournaments a host runs with DUPR switched on: the host reviews the matches and submits them. There is no club-wide auto-submit.
Organizers
- Which formats can I run?
- One-off games, weekly series, leagues and tournaments — with rotating partners, fixed partners, singles, or team play including MLP-style and inter-club squads.
- Can pikel build the bracket for me?
- Yes. Pick a division, then generate round robin pools, single elimination or double elimination. Winners advance as match scores are confirmed. (Regenerating a round is a game-night action, not a bracket one — a bracket is reshaped by editing the draw.)
- How do I handle check-in and no-shows?
- The player list has check-in circles, plus swap and remove. Removing a checked-out player lets you pull the next person off the waitlist and regenerate the round.
- Can I collect entry fees?
- Yes, on tournaments. Set an entry fee and players pay by card at registration through Stripe checkout; connect a payout account once and the money reaches your bank. If you would rather handle it yourself, set no online fee and collect off-platform — Pikel then has no record of who has paid.
Clubs
- What does a club get?
- A public club page, member management with organizer roles, upcoming and past games, and season rankings that can be split by division.
- Can we keep our club private?
- Yes. Clubs can be open to join, approval-required, or invite-only, and individual sessions can be open, club-only or private.
Apps and data
- Is there a mobile app?
- Yes — Pikel is live on the App Store and Google Play. The website covers browsing, sign-in, hosting and tournament registration; scoring, joining a club and running a game night happen in the app.
- Who can see my personal details?
- Your email and your private profile fields are locked to your account. Other players see your display name, rating and match history; how much of your performance they see is a setting you control.
