How to Edit Your pikel Profile

Your pikel profile is how the rest of your club sees you — the name on the RSVP list, the face on the round board, the rating that helps an organizer balance teams. Keeping it current takes about fifteen seconds.

Step 1 — Open your profile, then Edit profile

Tap your avatar on the Home screen. That opens your profile; Edit profile is at the top of it. (There's no Profile tab to look for: the bottom bar is Home, Games, Create, Chats and Clubs.)

Step 2 — Change your display name

Display name is the first field. This is the name every other player sees — on game invites, in club chats, on the leaderboard — so make it the name your pickleball crew would recognise.

One rule: you can't save a blank name. Empty the field and Save greys out until you put something back. It's the only field pikel insists on.

Step 3 — Add or change your photo

Tap the camera badge on your avatar and pick an image; it uploads on the spot, with a spinner on the badge while it processes. If you already have a photo and want your initials back, tap Remove photo.

The same camera badge sits on your avatar on the profile screen itself, so you can swap a photo without opening Edit profile at all.

Step 4 — Write a bio and add your links

Bio is a short line about how you play — "3.5, plays Tuesdays at Frisco, will poach" does more work than a paragraph. Links and handles let you add the accounts you actually want other players to find you on.

Both are optional, and both are public to anyone who can see your profile. Don't put anything there you wouldn't say on court.

Step 5 — Set how you play

Two fields describe your game rather than your account:

• Preferred hand — right or left. Organizers use it when they're balancing a mixed pair.
• Play style — the shape of your game, so a stranger pairing with you knows roughly what they're getting.

Step 6 — Set your skill level

Skill level runs from 2.0 to 8.0 and snaps in 0.5 steps. Drag it to whatever honestly reflects your level. It's a self-rating to help organizers slot you into the right games, not a score anyone is keeping.

If you've linked DUPR, this looks different. Your DUPR rating takes the slider's place, marked as synced and locked while the link is live. That's deliberate: once DUPR is connected, your official rating is your number. Unlink DUPR and the self-rating comes back.

Step 7 — Save

Tap Save. pikel writes the change and your updated name, photo and rating appear everywhere — the RSVP list, your club roster, chat. Back out instead and nothing changes.

Your email is shown on this screen but is read-only: it comes from the login you signed up with (Apple, Google or email), so you change it by managing that account.

What isn't here

Gender and Language live under App settings, not Edit profile. Gender is a separate row because organizers use it to seed mixed doubles correctly; leaving it unset is fine.

Pro tip

Fill in a real photo and an honest skill level before you RSVP to your first open game. Organizers use both to build balanced teams and to recognise you on the court — a blank avatar and an untouched default make you a question mark to everyone sorting the round. And if you play rated matches, link DUPR instead of guessing: it's the one number other players actually trust.
