How to Join a Pickleball Club with an Invite Code
Getting into a pickleball club on Pikel is the first real step from "downloaded the app" to "playing with people." Someone runs a club — a facility, a weekly crew, a group of friends — and they hand you a way in. That way in is always one of three things: a link, a short code, or a QR code. All three land you on the same screen, and joining is a tap or two from there. Here's the whole path.
Step 1 — Open your invite
The person running the club shares their invite one of three ways. Any of them works:
- A link — tap it in a text, a group chat, or an email, and Pikel opens straight to the club's join screen.
- A join code — a short five-character code you can type in by hand (see the next step).
- A QR code — point your phone's camera at it and it opens the same join screen. Handy when the code is printed on a flyer or posted at the courts.
If you tapped a link or scanned a QR, Pikel looks the club up for you and jumps ahead to Step 3 — you can skip the manual entry below.
Step 2 — Or type the code in by hand
No link handy? Enter the code yourself — the outcome differs a little by platform:
- On iOS, open the Clubs tab and tap Join a Club. A sheet asks you to "Enter the invite code from a club admin." Type the code and tap Join Club, and iOS joins you straight into the club (skip to Step 4).
- On Android, open the invite-code screen — Enter Invite Code, "Enter a 5-letter code to join a game, club, or group." Type the code and tap Look Up to see the club preview first (Step 3).
The code is five characters and case doesn't matter — Pikel uppercases it for you. Tip: tapping an invite link or scanning a QR code opens the preview on any phone, so that's the surest way to eyeball the club before you join.
Step 3 — Check the club, then join
When you open a link or QR code — or tap Look Up on Android — you'll see a "You're Invited to a Club!" preview: the club's name, a short description, how many members it has, its city, and a Public or Private badge. This is your chance to make sure it's the right club before you commit.
Then tap the button at the bottom. Which one you see depends on whether the club's admins turned on approval — not on the Public/Private badge:
- No approval needed (the default) → the button reads Join Club. One tap and you're in.
- Approval turned on → the button reads Request to Join, and a banner notes that the club requires admin approval. Tapping it sends your request to the club's admins.
A public club always lets you join instantly; a private club may join you instantly or ask for approval, depending on how its admins set it up.
Step 4 — You're in (or you're pending)
What you see next depends on whether the club needs approval:
- Joined instantly? You get a "You're In!" confirmation — "You've joined [club name]." Tap View Club to head straight to its games, chat, and members. (On iOS, typing the code in the Join a Club sheet lands you here directly.)
- Sent a request? You get "Request Sent" — "Your request to join [club name] has been sent to the admins." You're in as soon as an admin approves it, and Pikel lets you know.
Either way, the club now lives in your Clubs tab. Join as many as you like — a facility, your regular crew, a friend's group — and switch between them whenever you want.
Pro tip
If a code won't resolve, it's almost always because the invite expired — codes and links don't last forever. Don't retype it five times; just ask whoever invited you for a fresh link or code. And if you scanned a QR at the courts and nothing happened, open your camera app directly on the code — a proper scan hands the link straight to Pikel.

Frequently asked questions
How do I join a pickleball club?
Open the club's invite — a link, a QR code, or a short join code. Most clubs let you join instantly; if the club's admins turned on approval, your request goes to them for a yes or no first. You can belong to several clubs at once and switch between them from the Clubs tab.
How long is a Pikel club invite code?
Five characters — letters and numbers. It isn't case-sensitive, so 'ab12x' and 'AB12X' both work. Type it into the invite-code field and tap Look Up (or Join Club) to pull up the club.
What happens if the club needs approval to join?
When a club has approval turned on, the button reads Request to Join instead of Join Club, and a banner tells you approval is required. When you tap it you'll see 'Request Sent' — your request goes to the club's admins, and you're in once one of them approves it.
Can I join more than one club?
Yes. There's no single-club limit — join as many as you like, and they all show up in your Clubs tab so you can hop between them. Each club keeps its own games, chat, and members.
My invite code says it's invalid or expired — what do I do?
Invite codes and links can expire, so an old one may stop working. Ask whoever invited you for a fresh link or code and try again — a new one resolves the same club in a couple of taps.
